Brief overview of the project :
I am going to research and investigate how the media manipulates and indoctrinates audiences. I will be looking at a range of mass media texts including advertising, film, music and cartoons. I will investigate the relationship between media images and body illness such bulimia, anorexia and body dysmorphia.
The aims and limits of the project:
I will be aiming to look at how advertisements and movies manipulate and indoctrinate audiences with the image of 'perfection'. I will be explaining two theoretical approaches of semiotics and ideology and representation. I will also be explain two functions of the mass media: the economic function and the way of life function
